January South Bay Dance Center opens its doors under the direction of Kit Ashleigh-Dean
June 22 First Spring Recital at The Center of the Performing Arts with only one show and 5 instructors on staff
September SBDC offers its first hip hop class
November SBDC's first story ballet production "Pandora" performs at Santa Teresa High School with a cast of 24, only 5 en pointe
2000
June 24 Second Spring Recital "Music of the Ages" performs 3 shows at Santa Clara Convention Center
December SBDC's first production of "The Nutcracker" performs at Santa Teresa High School
2001
January Pure Dance Teen Performing Company begins its first season with founder Sonya Duffin
March Pure Dance Teen Performing Company produces its first show with only 13 members
May 25 Pure Dance celebrates National Tap Dance Day by performing in a festival in San Francisco
June 16-17 Third Spring Showcase "Songs of the Soul" performs 4 shows at the Santa Clara Convention Center
November SBDC ballet students perform "Coppelia" at the Santa Clara Convention Center
2002
March Pure Dance produces its second annual show at the Santa Clara Convention Center with guest performers from other local studios
June 22-23 Fourth Spring Showcase "An American Portrait" performs 4 shows at the Santa Clara Convention Center
December SBDC performs "The Nutcracker" at The Montgomery Theater
2003
January After the departure of former director Sonya Duffin, Missy Schipper becomes the new director of Pure Dance Productions
March Pure Dance produces its third annual show at Oak Grove High School
June 22-23 Fifth Spring Showcase "Kaleidoscope" performs 5 shows at the Santa Clara Convention Center
November SBDC performs "Swan Lake" at the Santa Clara Convention Center
2004
April 3 Pure Dance produces its fourth annual show "Legends" at San Jose State University with 23 company members
June 19-20 Sixth Spring Showcase "On Broadway" performs 5 shows at the Santa Clara Convention Center
September Regional Ballet Company, South Bay Ballet Arts founded by Kit Ashleigh-Dean begins its first season with 13 dancers
September South Bay Dance Center adds Modern to its repertoire
December 18 SBDC performs "The Nutcracker" at The Montgomery Theater

January Pure Dance Productions and South Bay Ballet Arts perform at Dance Effects' Winter Showcase

April 24-30 SBDC celebrates National Dance Week

January Pure Dance Production introduces Pure Dance Prep, a junior company of dancers ages 7-10

April 21-30 SBDC celebrates National Dance Week
June 25-26 Eighth June Showcase "SBDC Rocks!" performs 5 shows at the Campbell Heritage Theater
August SBDC expands with a fourth studio at the same location

January Pure Dance Production adds Pure Dance Junior, a company of dancers ages 9-12

January 27 Pure Dance Productions and South Bay Ballet Arts perform in Dance Effect’s Winter Showcase at the Campbell Heritage Theatre
April 19 Spring Repertory Concert “Road Trip” performed by Pure Dance Productions (under co-direction of Elizabeth Dickey and Jennifer Evans) and South Bay Ballet Arts at the Campbell Heritage Theatre
April 26 Pure Dance Productions and South Bay Ballet Arts perform at Golden Gate Park in celebration of National Dance Week
April 26 – May 3 SBDC celebrates National Dance Week
May 31 SBDC students perform at Relay for Life in San Jose
June 28-29 Tenth annual June Showcase, “A Decade of Dance” performs 5 shows at Campbell Heritage Theatre.
